Week 14 — In a Row

_NIK1681-EditCa’ d’Zan Bayfront Terrace, The Ringling, Sarasota.

I never tire visiting the Ringling property.  The grounds, the museum, and the house provide plenty of opportunity to photograph the beauty of the buildings and its location.  The Ca’ d’Zan was the winter home of the American circus owner, developer and art collector John Ringling and his wife Mable.  They built the Venetian Gothic residence in 1926 on the Sarasota Bay.  This image of the bayfront terrace was made from domestic and imported marble.  Stunning design!  And then there’s the 36,000 square foot house with its embellished glazed tiles, medallions and other ornaments.  A great place to sit and take in the view!  And to use as this week’s assignment of ‘In a Row’ with the windows, chairs and umbrellas!

Week 38 … # 34 Squares …. City Reflections

IMG_4380

George Square, Glasgow, Scotland

The couple of days we spent in Glasgow, we would do the half-mile hike from our hotel to downtown George Square to catch the Hop-on-Hop-off bus which provided a great way of getting around the city and stopping where ever we wanted.  Every day as we approached George Square, the above building came into view with awesome reflections of its surroundings.  I thought it made for a good image for the theme “squares”.  Although I took several photos with my big camera and my iPhone, it was the iPhone image I liked the best (sorry Nikon) and cropped and edited a bit in Lightroom.
